For this project, we had to create a
poster and an Instagram carousel for a
social cause to raise awareness.
For my project, I decided to focus on the
danger of AI as this is becoming a more
prevalent and relevant issue with the rise
of AI. I also decided to go the mixed
media route with this project, with my
focal design being a sculpture of my
own making.
Originally I struggled with not being cliche
regarding my topic and it took a deep look into
symbolism in otder to achieve that.
Once I took a deeper
dive, I considered companies like Apple, which are based
on the symbolism of the apple from the Garden of Eden.
Considering this myth, I chose to represent AI as
the snake
or Lucifer, as he is originally the one who deceives, like how
AI preys on the vulnerable due to its positive and toxic feedback
loop, which leaves one in a state of constant affirmation with thyself.
This is also why I added the infinity symbol to represent that loop.
